CONTEXT:   The conflict which majorly started in 1948, and became the reason of thousands of deaths and adversities in these years, finally got the attention of the world and specially those of the West, with Hamas attacking Israel, with around 1200 people killed, and some 240 seized and taken as hostages in Gaza. S ince then more than 20000   Palestinians have been killed, including 6000+ children, and 50000 people have been injured, a round 25000 children have been orphaned since October 2023. Not just this, but half of a densely populated area bombed to rubble and nearly 15 lakh people have been displaced from their home in the Gaza war. RECENT DEVELOPMENT:   Israel's foreign minister said last Wednesday that agreeing to a ceasefire in Gaza at this stage would be a mistake, and that Israel will continue its war on Hamas whether or not it has international support.  Meanwhile, India, in the UN General Assembly, voted in support of a draft resolution seeking an immediate humanit

ONE NATION-ONE ELECTION: PROS AND CONS

CONTEXT:   As we are heading for Lok Sabha elections of 2024, the concept of " ONE NATION-ONE ELECTION"  is making rounds around the corner. There are pros and cons regarding this concept which we will discuss further in the context of India. This system was prevalent in our country earlier during the period of 1952-1967, but since then elections are held separately, Elections are held at three levels, that is Central, State and Local; and at all these three levels different types of elections are held for various posts.  The central level consists of elections for  the posts of: President of India,  Vice- President of India, Members of Lok Sabha, Members of Rajya Sabha, The State level consists of elections for the posts of: Members of State Legislative Assembly, Members of State Legislative Council (at present in 6 out of 28 states), And the Local level consists of elections for: Municipalities(in urban areas) and Panchayats(in rural areas) Among these, only the elections f

PROPHET(PBUH), NUPUR SHARMA, and THE GROWING HATRED

Image
CONTEXT:    The comment made by Nupur Sharma on Prophet (PBUH), has taken a dreadful turn, and is continuing to spread just more hatred. Before starting this blog let me clear that I'm a muslim and I very well know the meaning of Islam. Now let's come to the point, we all know how the statement has once again resuscitated the enmity between different sections of people and given a free pass to people of both sides to satisfy their ego and insecurities in the name of religion. But, is hanging Nupur's effigy in Karnataka, pelting stones, shooting and beating the protesters mercilessly, bulldozing the houses, the right way to deal with this? First of all, who are we to decide Nupur's punishment? Ain't we have an independent judiciary? Ain't we the same people who were demanding for Munawar's release? (though it's a different matter that he got arrested as soon as possible, and here Nupur is still free). Yes, you can take a stand for Prophet(PBUH), but als

My Father, My King

A lot has already been said about fathers, and may be what you will read in this blog won't be something new as well, but I think anything what we say or do for our fathers can never be enough. I was thinking to start my personal blog since long but was waiting for a special occasion and nothing could ever have been better than Father's Day.  Father, Father is not just a word, Father is an emotion. A father is not just an ordinary person, he is the symbol of selfless, unconditional love. Selfless because he spends all his life for his family, his children without thinking about himself, his needs, his wants, his hobbies, his likes, his health, his future, anything doesn't matter for him especially in front of his children, and unconditional because he never expects anything in return. When we walk our first step, he is the one who cherishes it the most. He rarely shows his love through words but he is the one who gets more happy in our happiness and more sad in our sad
